Describe a strategy in plain English, ask an optional AI gate to review qualified buys, and inspect every verdict alongside your trading records. Your PriceWatch rules still decide when a buy can be considered.

See each step before you use it
Configure your provider and supporting review options, describe a strategy, then review AI decisions in PriceWatch records. Trade Gate enablement and Advisory or Veto behaviour are set in Strategy Base Settings.
Optional AI Trade Gate
After your own buy criteria are satisfied, the gate can record an Advisory verdict or let the Veto setting block the qualified buy after a SKIP verdict. It never creates an independent buy.
AI Review records
Verdicts appear in the Live Feed and in a filterable AI Review column on trigger and trading records. Decision and outcome logs help you compare automated model output with what happened next.
When the gate is asked
Your signal comes first. The AI reviews it once.
PriceWatch evaluates your selected buy criteria when a candle closes. When every selected buy criterion is true, that creates a buy signal. Only then can the optional Trade Gate send the latest market snapshot to your chosen model and ask for a BUY or SKIP verdict.
A direct buy on strategy start-up is the exception: it bypasses the Buy criteria and is not reviewed by the Trade Gate.

One SKIP covers one continuous signal
If your buy criteria stay true on later candles, PriceWatch reuses the existing SKIP instead of asking the same question repeatedly. A new review happens as soon as the signal resets and qualifies again, or after your persistent-signal re-check count is reached. Reused SKIPs do not create repeated Live Feed lines; the PriceWatch records can label a reused verdict.

PriceWatch connects directly to the provider you select using your own account and API key. PriceWatch does not provide an AI account or add an AI usage charge. A local OpenAI-compatible server is also supported. Prompts stay on your own network only when you genuinely control the endpoint and network.

Advisory
Records what the model would do, but trading continues under your normal rules. Use this first to compare verdicts with later outcomes.
Veto
A SKIP verdict blocks the qualified buy. The model does not replace your strategy settings.
Enable the gate and choose Advisory or Veto in Strategy Base Settings. PriceWatch prevents Use AI Assistant Trade Gate, Buy directly on strategy start-up, and Only one Buy and Sell trade per strategy from all being enabled together.
In Veto mode, Allow is the default, so a failed AI request does not block a buy that has already passed your criteria. Select Skip to block buys after failed AI requests. Current 2.0 limitation: Skip does not cover every setup error. If no model is selected or a required provider key is missing, PriceWatch treats the gate as unconfigured, so the qualified buy can still proceed. Save the relevant settings, test the connection, and verify AI Review entries in TEST mode before relying on Veto.
AI Trade Gate review settings
Configure the review data, persistent-signal re-checks, provider-failure behaviour and extra instructions. Enable the gate and choose Advisory or Veto in Strategy Base Settings.
Review frequency
Control how often a persistent signal is reconsidered
Re-checks are measured in candles because the evidence changes when a candle closes. CP1, CP2 and CP3 each have a count. Only the count for the governing buy-criteria period applies: the longest period by default, or the shortest if you choose faster reconsideration.
Default counts
CP1: 3 candles · CP2: 2 candles · CP3: 1 candle. The screen converts these into minutes for your selected periods.

Fewer calls. With 1-minute CP1 and 15-minute CP2 buy criteria, the default CP2 count gives a re-check after 30 minutes.

CP2 × 2 = 30 minutes

Earlier reconsideration. With the same periods, the default CP1 count gives a re-check after 3 minutes.
Same 1m + 15m criteria
CP1 × 3 = 3 minutes
A new signal is reviewed immediately, subject to a 60-second minimum between reviews of the same market. A BUY is not held for reuse: after a position closes, the next qualifying signal can be reviewed normally.

Do not type personal data, passwords, API keys or other confidential information into free-text AI instructions.
What a chosen provider may receive
Strategy descriptions, the PriceWatch indicator catalogue and settings, or a trade-gate market snapshot containing recent candles, indicator values, trigger details, selected criteria, and relevant strategy context. When a selected AI Sell rule contains its own take-profit value, that value can be included in the Trade Gate prompt and record; applying the strategy does not overwrite Desired Profit in Strategy Base Settings. The provider's own terms, retention policy, billing and data-transfer arrangements apply.
AI calls go directly from the desktop application to the provider or local server you configure; PriceWatch does not proxy them. Provider keys and AI settings are encrypted locally. Saved AI strategies, AI decision/build logs, and local SQLite records containing AI Review fields are plaintext. PriceWatch does not intentionally put provider keys in those records, but free-text instructions and raw model responses may include information you submit. They may also contain market data, strategy descriptions, criteria names, and model verdicts. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Built to reject invalid or disallowed rules; not to promise good trades
Generated rules must use known PriceWatch data and approved operations, pass structural checks, and produce the expected output on test data before they can be saved. PriceWatch shows the rule in plain English, with its exact expression available when you hover over it. These checks reduce implementation errors; they do not prove that a strategy will be profitable or suitable for you.

Read each plain-English rule, hover to inspect its exact expression, and check the notes and any rejected items before saving. Save stores the strategy; Apply to Strategy Settings later populates its role-correct criteria and referenced widgets.

Run new strategies and the trade gate in TEST mode across varied conditions first.
Decide
You remain responsible for provider selection, model output, settings and every LIVE-mode decision.
AI Assistant questions
No. The AI Trade Gate can review a buy only after your selected PriceWatch criteria have qualified it; it cannot create an independent buy signal. A direct buy on strategy start-up is a separate action that bypasses both the criteria check and AI review.

The AI Assistant is optional. Generate a strategy, inspect every rule, and compare Advisory verdicts with later outcomes before you consider Veto or LIVE use.
